What My Relapse Taught Me

After reversing debilitating joint pain, chronic migraines and eczema in 2015, I was able to stay consistent on my Flare Free Journey for a few years. I was the Executive Chef of The Heimerdinger Foundation, a non-profit organization that serves free organic healing meals to cancer patients in Nashville, and was able to cook the same food at work as I was cooking at home.


So there weren't any gaps in my nutrition.





And I was in the best health of my life.


When I left the foundation to work for myself full-time, I started working on projects that required me to create rich, restaurant-style food full of gluten, dairy and sugar.


Over the years, I started to suffer physical effects of tasting these rich restaurant-style foods at work every day. And within a few years, I ended up in a full-blown Rheumatoid Arthritis flare-up that lasted 2 1/2 years.


By the end of it, I had stools all over the kitchen so I could sit while chopping, cooking and washing dishes.


I was in constant pain 24/7/365 and I couldn't even stand in my own kitchen or garden without my $700 custom orthotic shoes on.





Pain that controlled my life and stole my happiness.


Pain that tainted my love of cooking.


But I couldn't see a way out without committing to eating Flare Free 90% of the time.


Which meant committing to only cooking Flare Free at home AND at work.


Because in order for me to stay well, I have to stay consistent.
