I'M LAURA RODRIGUEZ + I KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO FEEL HOPELESS, BROKEN + LIKE MY BODY WAS BETRAYING ME

In 2015, when I was the executive chef of a non-profit that delivered organic healing meals to cancer patients every week, I hit rock bottom in my health for the first time. But I was secretly struggling with my own chronic inflammation that caused constant debilitating pain in my elbows and wrists that made it impossible for me to lift containers of food high enough off the counter to put them in the cooler bags. 

​

I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, prescribed an anti-inflammatory medication, and told there was nothing else doctors could do for me. That I needed to just go home and take my medication.

​

Armed with education from some of the leading scientists and doctors in integrative oncology and cancer research, on how to reverse cancer and other chronic inflammation related conditions naturally through diet and lifestyle, I decided to take healing into my own hands by cooking the same meals I was preparing for cancer patients at work, for my family at home. 

​

Gluten/dairy/sugar/corn/soy/peanut-free and anti-inflammatory comfort food. AKA: "Flare Free Food."

​​

After 3 months, the debilitating joint pain, migraines and eczema I had suffered with for years, went away.

​

But my healing journey wasn't a linear one. In fact, in 2021, after working full-time as a private chef for a country music star, I hit rock bottom a SECOND time.  

​

I had stools all over the kitchen because I was struggling with intense pain in my feet that made it very difficult for me to stand all day. The stressful demands of the job, relying on restaurants to feed my family due to having very little time and energy left to cook for my own family after work every day, and a few other factors, had my body ABSOLUTELY riddled with inflammation.

​

Desperate to get my old life and my health back, I quit that job.

​

The first thing I did? Started working less and cooking Flare Free at home more.

​
